Position: Electrical Lab Test Technician

Reports to:
Production Manager / Production Control Manager

Job Hours:

  • 7:00am-3:30pm shift, Mon-Fri.

  • Flexible to work extended hours as needed.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Lab Test Technician is primarily responsible for setting up, testing, tuning, and accurately documenting the results.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Assemble and tune microwave devices following drawing’s specifications.

  • Understand electrical specifications including VSWR, insertion loss, and frequency band.

  • Properly Set up Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) for testing assemblies.

  • Electrically test and tune waveguide assemblies according to the print specifications.

  • Complete and save required documentation for testing results.

  • Cross-check all electrical work performed for consistency and correctness.

  • Apply appropriate physical markings on assemblies to identify serial numbers.

  • Responsible for verifying quantities match the work traveler.

  • Maintain a safe and professional work area.

  • Additional duties might be assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and thorough in completing work tasks.

  • High degree of dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.

  • Ability to handle tools and delicate parts.

  • Good communication skills; with the ability to work independently and as a team.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience with RF/microwave designs and test techniques up to 70GHz desired.


  • Achieve production/productivity goals.

  • Achieve deadlines (production, reporting).

  • Achieve quality standards within acceptable limits (first-pass yield).

Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally be required to push, pull and move objects up to 50 pounds.

  • Hearing, seeing ability to include depth perception, peripheral vision and rapid mental coordination. 

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
