Position: Sales Manager

 

Reports To: CEO

 

Job Hours:

  • 7:00am-3:30pm shift, Mon-Fri

  • Flexible to work extended hours as needed


Job Summary:

The Sales Manager uses technical knowledge of product offerings to advise and support the sales team with pricing estimates and implementation guidance based on customer requirements. Their duties include analyzing customer’s technical specifications, recommending the best product configuration and installation process, and estimating implementation effort, time, and resources. They also review sales proposals for accuracy and completeness, while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Generating high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing and renewing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales, and arranging deliveries

  • Perform risk, cost, and profitability assessment on all major projects including existing ones

  • Review sales proposals for accuracy, completeness, and quality

  • Conduct product’s research and engineering support to meet customers' technical requirements and industry standards

  • Maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers

  • Attend trade shows and customer visits

  • Work closely with mentors in problem solving and help new team members develop their professional talent


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Aerospace and military applications knowledge preferred

  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences

  • Ability to apply engineering, technology, or other related principles to product sales

  • Possess an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures preferred

  • Attention to detail and time management skills

  • Computer knowledge – Microsoft Office, Solidworks (preferred)


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, business administration, or related field,

or 1-3 years’ experience working in the sales or engineering department in a manufacturing facility

  • Applicants must be proven competent in sales, engineering, GD&T, and Solidworks in order to promote into this position


Accountabilities:

  • Meet the sales goals and cost objectives of the department

  • Achieve deadlines (sales, engineering, quoting, reporting)

  • Achieve required quotas for quotes and leads


Physical Demands:

  • Occasionally be required to push, pull and move objects up to 30 pounds

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk


Work Environment:

  • Office environment

  • The noise level in the work environment may be moderately loud

  • Willingness to travel 30%
